HISTORY-GEOGRAPHY TEACHER – ANGLOPHONE INTERNATIONAL SECTION

The BIRD School, a member of the AEFE network and approved by the French Ministry of National Education, is seeking an:

Anglophone History-Geography Teacher – C2 English

Starting September 2027

The teacher will teach History-Geography in English within our Anglophone International Section and contribute to the preparation of students for the International French Baccalaureate (BFI).

Main Responsibilities

• Teach History-Geography in English according to the International Section curriculum.
• Prepare students for BFI written and oral assessments.
• Develop critical thinking, source analysis, academic writing, and oral communication skills.
• Assess students and provide constructive feedback.
• Contribute to cultural projects and the development of the International Section.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Geography, Education, or related field.
• Teaching qualification preferred (PGCE, QTS, CAPES/Agrégation, or equivalent).
• C2 English proficiency.
• Applicants must have significant academic or professional experience in the United States or another English-speaking country.
• Experience teaching History-Geography in English and/or in an international or bilingual school is an asset.
• Strong pedagogical, communication, and classroom-management skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment.

Position

Location: Antananarivo, Madagascar

Contract: Local Law Contract

Salary: According to qualifications and experience.
